Popular Glam Rock Bands On Tour Now
New York Dolls, Mott the Hoople, & Others Wow Audiences This Summer

While glam rock is no longer as popular as it once was in the seventies and eighties, legions of devoted fans still turn out to see their favorite musicians perform. The demand is so great, in fact, that several iconic glam rock bands have recently gone back out on the road after years without touring.
New York Dolls
Considered pioneers of the glam rock movement, the New York Dolls released their self-titled debut record in 1973. In May 2009 the band released its newest album, Cause I Sez So, and is currently touring.
The new record was produced by Todd Rundgren, who also produced their groundbreaking debut. While not the original line-up, the band’s fans are coming to see them rock. You can catch them at shows throughout the summer in the U.K., Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
Mott the Hoople
Rockers Mott the Hoople formed in 1969 and existed only for five and a half years. During their short tenure, however, they developed millions of fans world wide.
Although they disbanded over 35 years ago, Mott the Hoople has announced it will play a limited number of select reunion shows featuring the original line-up. Three out of the five London shows have already sold out, so fans who would like to see this rare reunion should get tickets now.
Poison, Def Leppard, and Cheap Trick
Eighties glam rockers Poison, Def Leppard, and Cheap Trick have set out on a multi-city U.S. tour throughout the summer. The performances are sure to take audiences back to the glory days of men wearing lipstick and tight leather pants, with hair properly teased and held in place by gallons of Aqua-Net hairspray. Motley Crue – Crue Fest 2
Glam rock’s original bad boys are back again with Crue Fest 2. Featuring Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool, & Charm City Devils, Crue Fest is sure to deliver. In addition, Motley Crue will play its notorious Dr. Feelgood album in its entirety.
Fans old and new should not miss the Crue in action. Since debuting in 1982 with Too Fast for Love, the men of Motley Crue have repeatedly proven they can still rock and haven’t slowed down a bit.
KISS
Perhaps the most notorious of the glam bands, KISS is not only a marketing machine but also a great band. Currently performing in the U.S. through the end of October, KISS culminates its tour by headlining the famous Voodoo Experience in New Orleans, Louisiana. The KISS Army has faithfully supported the band for years, and this tour has proven to be no different.
